What does Lutheran mean?
Martin Luther
The founders of LM thought - and the members today think - that by the Holy Spirit the German theologist Martin Luther (1483-1546) saw some crucial truths in the Bible. They would like to stress these points which have been of decisive importance for the Christianity in Denmark.
- The free grace: Salvation and the eternal life is a free gift from God which we get through the faith in Jesus.
- The common priesthood: All Christians are »priests« before Gud. That means that no theologist og priest is necessary between the congregation and God himself.
- The Bible and the Christian message must be available to all human beings and it must be communicated so that the listener can understand it - whether in Tanzania, Cambodia or a Danish village in the countryside.
